How to Play SKYHOLD — Beginner’s Guide

Learn to build walls, seal your aether core, read the wind and bombard rival sky fortresses. Controls, modes and tips.

Free · No install · Play in your browser or on Android

How to play

  1. Build: place wall pieces and buildings. Guns only work inside a closed wall ring.
  2. Bombard: tap the rival side. Shells drift with the wind — trust the landing marker.
  3. Repair: re-close your walls. An open core at the end of repair takes a breach penalty.
  4. A sealed core is shielded. Break the ring, then hit the core. Win by KO or score after 7 rounds.

The world

Three hundred years ago the Stormwall — a ring of storm-engines that kept the sky calm — shattered. The land below vanished under endless cloud. What remained were the floating cities, lifted on aether crystals, drifting on the storm. Each city learned to wall itself in, to raise a shielded core, and to answer every cannon with two. They call these fortresses skyholds.

Aether cores

A skyhold's heart is an aether core. Fully enclosed by walls, it projects a shield no shell can pierce. Open a single gap and the shield collapses. Every battle in the Cloudsea is a race to break that ring — and to close your own.
